Connect a new WhatsApp number

For a number that does not send through Meta's Cloud API yet. Each video shows exactly what to click at Meta.

Create a business portfolio

Create the app

  2. 2Pick Connect with customers through WhatsApp.

Add your number

  1. 1In your app, open Use cases → Customize.
  2. 2Under Step 1. Try it out, copy the Phone Number ID and the Messaging account ID.
You now have:
  • Phone number ID
  • Messaging account ID

Create a permanent token

  1. 1Open System users and add one with the role Admin.
  2. 2Assign assets: your app and your WhatsApp account, with full control.
  3. 3Generate token: expiry Never, permissions whatsapp_business_messaging and whatsapp_business_management.
You now have:

Copy the app secret

  1. 1In your app, open App settings → Basic.
  2. 2Click Show next to App secret and copy it.

Enter the values in Anysetter

Open Settings, Channels, Connect WhatsApp. The dialog asks for the four values in the order of this guide and checks the token with Meta right away.

  • The Phone number ID and the Messaging account ID are not secret.
  • The access token and the app secret are: anyone holding them can send from your number. If you pass them on, do it only through a password manager, never in plain email or chat.

Set up the webhook

The webhook is how messages to your number reach Anysetter. Once the number is connected, Anysetter shows a Callback URL and a verify token. Enter both at Meta, subscribe three fields and publish the app, as the video shows.

  1. 1In your app, open Use cases → Customize → Configure Webhooks.
  2. 2Paste the Callback URL and the verify token from Anysetter and click Verify and save.
  3. 3Subscribe messages, message_template_status_update and message_template_quality_update.
  4. 4Click Publish.

The verify token is shown once. Keep the Anysetter dialog open until Meta has accepted it; if it was closed before, connect the number once more to get a new one.
